Enabling OTG in mobile
OTG in mobile devices stands for USB On-The-Go.
USB OTG is a specification that allows a mobile device (phone or tablet) to act not only as a USB client (like a flash drive being connected to a computer) but also as a USB host (like a computer itself).
To ensure your Android smartphone can communicate with Omnicomm equipment, you may need to manually enable USB OTG in the device settings. Follow the steps below:
1. Open the Settings app on your Android smartphone.
2. Navigate to Additional Settings (On some devices this may appear under Connected Devices, Advanced Settings, or a similar menu.)
3. Scroll down until you find the option “OTG” or “OTG connection”. This option is usually located at the bottom of the Additional Settings menu.
4. Enable (toggle on) the OTG option. Once enabled, your phone will activate OTG mode and allow communication with external USB devices.
After toggling the switch, OTG support is active and your device is ready for connecting Omnicomm hardware.
